Flawless Intense Pulsed Light (I.P.L.)
Treatments are available regularly at Indulge Body and Soul, Kaikoura.
All treatments are carried out by a qualified I.P.L. technician and registered nurse.
I.P.L. stands for Intense Pulsed Light. I.P.L. works on the principle of light being attracted to colour. The machines use selective photo-thermolysis, which means applying the appropriate wavelength and amount of light energy to a specific area without harming surrounding tissues.
I.P.L. Hair Removal
I.P.L. is very effective at removing hair from all parts of the body and face. It is excellent for treating in-grown hairs, and problems due to rashes from shaving and other hair removal methods.
Unlike electrolysis (which can only treat one hair at a time) I.P.L. can treat many simultaneously. I.P.L. disables hair in the active growth phase which is why a minimum of 6 treatments or more is required. The hair growth cycle varies from person to person.
Treatment intervals are 6 weekly. Prior to and during treatment do not wax or pluck, you may shave. White or completely blond hair is difficult to treat.
Sun and Age Spots
I.P.L. is effective at treating many types of pigmentation. The light is selectively absorbed by pigmented spots e.g. freckles on the skin. At first the spots will darken, then fade and flake off. Several treatments may be required to achieve the desired results.
Vein Removal
I.P.L. can treat broken capillaries (spider veins) on the face or body. It is also effective for Rosacea (facial redness). Pulses of light energy cause blood within the capillary to coagulate, this then eventually destroys the vessel. This is later re-absorbed by the body, the blood flow will be redirected. This leads to a gradual fading of redness, several treatments are usually required.
Skin Rejuvenation
I.P.L. is able to stimulate the fibroblast cells causing an inflammatory response. This produces new collagen and elastin which lasts for approximately six months. Improvements in skin texture and tone can be seen and some of the damage caused by ageing and sun minimised. Clients often notice a reduction of open pores, softening of the skins texture and overall boost to the complexion.
Acne Treatment
Acne is a normal resident on the skin which multiplies rapidly in clogging hair follicles where sebum is trapped. I.P.L. has the ability to kill the acne causing bacteria on the skins surface. With regular treatments clients should notice a reduction in inflammation, pustules and lesion size. To achieve maximum results, regular treatments are required.

OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is a ‘hands on’ therapy that helps remove or reduce restrictions within the body. These restrictions may be muscular, joint, nervous, circulatory or any combination of these. Once restrictions are removed then ‘health’ can resume.
HOW?
Osteopathy uses a wide range of techniques from very gentle Cranial Osteopathic Manipulation, (sometimes referred to as “Cranio Sacral” therapy), to joint manipulation (where a joint ‘click’ is often heard), and many other techniques in-between. As each patient and their problem is unique, each treatment is tailor made for the individual, there is no standard formula.

Many people learn to live with aches and pains as they get older either because they think that nothing can be done or because they've been told by health professionals that nothing can be done..."its just part of getting old....learn to live with it".
Osteopathy is not a great cure all, but there are many gentle Osteopathic techniques which can be used to greatly reduce or even totally eliminate some symptoms assosiated with aging.
Just how beneficial will Osteopathy be can be will vary from one person to the next , the reason for this being that we are all so uniquely different.
Over a life time we will all build up our own unique injury/medical history, bad postural/work habits,dietary and genetics histories...all the things that affect us. Osteopathy is not treatment by numbers so all of this has to be taken into account so that the treatment is taylor made and as effective as posible for the individual.
As stated we are all individual, but a common theme as we get older is Osteoarthritis of the joints,especially the more weight bearing joints. Basically Osteoarthritis is a wear and tear process, if you use anything again and again year in year out, be it your body or your car...it will start to wear out!
Osteopathy can not reverse the wear and tear that has been done but it can be very beneficial in relaxing the muscles around the affected area. This relaxation will help to normalise the movement of the joint and so start to reduce the pain.This relaxation will also help to increase the flow of good blood to the joint and the flow of waste products away , again helping to reduce the pain.

HOW TO SPA
To ensure your receive the most from your experience at Indulge Body&Soul please read the following.
Time
We recommend you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your treatment, allowing you time to relax before your treat. Please understand that all treatments will finish on time, so the next guest is not inconvenienced.
Cancellations
Time is valuable to all our guests. Please repect this and give a minumum of 12 hours notice of cancellation of services. Failure to do so will incur a charge of 100% to your credit card. Credit card details are required to secure all bookings over 90 min. All 'no shows' will be charged at full price and gift vouchers will be void.
What to bring
Just come in comfortable clothes. A robe, towels and slippers are supplied for the duration of your treatment. Our policy does require all clientelle to wear underwear at all times during your treatment therefore disposable underpants (G-string) will be supplied.
Jewellery
Please leave valuables at home or in the hotel safe. While a locker is provided and all care will be taken, we regret we are not responsible for your valuables.
Age
Everybody and anybody over the age of 13 can enjoy these special treats.
Pregnancy
Please inform your therapist if you are pregnant or trying for a baby as we recommend pregnant women do NOT have some of the treatments. Some of the essential oil combinations and the heat of the treatments may be detrimental to your baby.
